The Secrets of Becoming a Confident Man: Action

This is the last, fifth post in the series of posts called “The Secrets of Becoming a Confident Man. In each post, I’ll share with you one secret of self-confidence. Today we’ll talk about… taking action.

I’ll keep it simple: reading articles on how to become confident won’t make you a confident person. You can read dozens of tips on how to be confident, you can read dozens of books on how to get rid of shyness. None of that will matter unless you take action.

Many so-called “confidence coaches” will tell you that they have a proven system that will make you a confident person in a few days. You just have to buy their stuff, read it and boom, you’ll become a confident person! Sorry to break it to you brother, but it’s not that easy.

The secret is that it takes a lot of action to become confident, and it’s going to be hard, especially if you’re very shy. Reading articles can help you start your journey toward self-confidence; it can also help you whenever you don’t know what to do next. However, it all starts with action – with facing your fears.

See, people want to become confident, yet they avoid all situations that make them feel uncomfortable. How can you become comfortable around people if you constantly avoid them? How can you get rid of your shyness if you avoid situations that make you feel shy?

You have to face your fears to become confident. You have to feel uncomfortable. You have to feel frustrated, rejected, hell, even stupid. That’s how it works. But it’s all necessary.

It’s like surfing. First you have to learn how to stand up. Then how to surf for one second. Two. Three. Then catch a bigger wave. And after some time you’re awesome. You don’t learn how to surf by reading about it. You have to drink some sea water to learn it.

Confident people aren’t afraid of taking action. They aren’t paralyzed. They know that there are no results without taking action. To join the ranks of highly confident people, you have to become proactive.

Take action today. Do something that scares you. Then start doing it every single day. See what happens. You’ll be surprised.
